Lyrics
Trinity, July 16th. The Gadget sets the stage. Journey of death Enclosing on certain doom Scientists determine, specific calculations An overwhelming Success Ethical Justification Scholarly debate Blinding flash, from the sky No one is safe Into the void, A path we chose Into the void. Orders given, from the top Ignore the innocent To win this war, at all costs A choice we can't take back Mothers cry, while babies die A day we will regret. Ethical Justification Scholarly debate Blinding flash, from the sky No one is safe Into the void, A path we chose Into the void. Little Boy and The Fat Man Politicians obsessed Leaders chose victory Civilians can't forget The cost of life, too great Never repeat, or forget “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds Ethical Justification Scholarly debate Blinding flash, from the sky No one is safe Into the void, A path we chose Into the void. In 1945 we were ushered into the atomic age Technology seen to its logical ends By some of the greatest minds of our time With over two hundred thousand dead after the first year It was the ultimate display of destruction A new weapon of death would forever change war Humanity now holds the power the destroy all we’ve created The lessons learned, must never be forgotten We must learn to live in peace, or extinction will be our fate Lives destroyed and torn apart With no concern Playing God to win a war Consequence ignored We go on with our lives Victory secured Ethical Justification Scholarly debate Blinding flash, from the sky No one is safe Into the void, A path we chose Into the void. Into the void, A path we chose Into the void.
